Case of Blasphemy against Prime Minister Imran Khan Turned Down By The Islamabad High Court
The case of Blasphemy which was filed against current Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan was Turned down by the Islamabad High Court and stated it unsuitable for trial.
On Thursday the verdict was received by Chief Justice Athar Minallah in advocate Saleemullah Khan’s appeal asking the court to disqualify the principal under Article 62 [E] and [F]
saying that PM Imran khan does not possess adequate knowledge of Islam.
But on Friday the court announced to disqualified the appeal.
The appeal was Turned Down by the court stating that:
“A person’s faith or belief is not open to be questioned by any other person. Moreover, a mistake or error committed by a person while addressing a public gathering cannot be treated as blasphemous when the facts and circumstances clearly establish that he or she could not have intended to commit such an offence,”
“Faith or religious belief is a personal matter and should not be questioned by others. Likewise, extreme caution has to be exercised in making allegations relating to blasphemy,”
The court dismissed the case stating these lines.
