Physical activity, a man’s best friend!
Physical activity is a true friend and a life saviour. It is the main key to a healthy life. It is usually said that 15 to 30 minutes of daily exercise can add years to life. As per the evidence, regular physical activity can prevent the risk of several chronic diseases, like obesity, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer, hypertension, and depression. It may also reduce the risk of osteopenia and osteoporosis by improving bone health. Moreover, it boosts metabolism, improves breathing and manages or reduces weight.
Recommendations by the American heart association
As per the American heart association (heart.org), by becoming more physically active, one can think, feel, sleep and perform daily tasks better.
The heart.org recommends that a minimum of 150 minutes/week of moderate to the intense aerobic activity or 75 minutes/week of vigorous aerobic activity, or a combination of both if possible spread throughout the whole week.
Further, add moderate to high-intensity activities no less than days/week to maintain muscular strength.
It is preferable to spend less time sitting idle. Moreover, gradually increase the frequency and intensity of exercise or physical activity in daily life.
