In this era, there is a high prevalence of overweight and obesity. Modern lifestyles and unhealthy eating habits have led us to an alarming situation. However, this situation can be controlled by bringing a behavioural change in our lives. But the problem is people try to lose weight within a few days, which is very dangerous. Healthy weight loss is far better than sudden and unhealthy weight loss. In weight reduction, patience is the real key. Further, it is recommended that weight loss per week should not be more than 1 or 2 pounds. Therefore, following are some healthy weight loss tips.

  • Gradually decrease your portion size.
  • Never miss any meal.
  • Eat a variety of foods
  • Eat a balanced diet by adding all food groups in your diet.
  • Drink at least 8 to 12 cups of lukewarm water daily.
  • Avoid the consumption of junk food and fast food.
  • Do not go for energy drinks, carbonated beverages and cold drinks.
  • Add fibre in your diet.
  • Try to avoid free sugars and refined carbohydrates. Try to consume whole grains and whole grains products.
  • Increase the intake of fruits and vegetables.
  • Try to drink a cup of lukewarm water as you wake up.
  • Drink water at least half an hour before having the meal.
  • Reduce salt intake.
  • Increase your physical activity by doing aerobic exercises or brisk walking for at least 30 minutes a day.
  • Do not go for FAD DIETS like the keto diet.
  • Go for low-fat milk and milk products.
  • Go for low-fat meat.
  • Add fish in your diet.
  • Consume healthy fats like nuts.
  • Eat with family and do not eat while watching TV or using a mobile or computer.
